Tzuri Gueta, textile designer

necklace by Tzuri Gueta

New York City is known for having great boutiques, but for some reason I always end up returning to the MoMA Store for inspiration. I was there last week, and came across a new name alongside the familiar textile designers (Reiko Sudo, Luisa Cevese , Sandy Chilewich). A bizarre necklace caught my attention from the jewelry cabinet - a piece made with silicone and netting by Tzuri Gueta.

Gueta's bio lists an impressive roster of collaborators. He's made textiles and/or accessories for Giorgio Armani, Thierry Mugler, and Christian Dior, and also puts out his own line of jewelry. The necklaces and bracelets that he makes employ novel techniques developed in his Parisian studio. You feel as though you're scuba diving when you his the oddly beautiful creations.
